Café Euphrosyne
This painting is part of my 'Friendship' series in which I explore the various places where we meet up with friends, arguably the most important relationships in our lives. A partner isn’t enough to meet all our social and emotional needs. Besides, it’s proven that strong friendships make you live longer than having a partner.
I thought about various places where we meet up with friends, and the first one to come to mind was a coffee shop. It's the perfect place for a catch-up, be it a quick or a long one. Since the women seem to be having such a blast, I named it Euphrosyne: the greek goddess of joy and mirth.
